What's New at Dynix ![]() SirsiDynix Offers Emergency Hosting and Consulting Services for Libraries Affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita September 21, 2005 SirsiDynix announced today that it has established an Emergency Hosting and Consulting Services Program for libraries in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama affected by Hurricane Katrina, as well as customers in Texas and Louisiana that are likely to face Hurricane Rita by Saturday, September 24. Disaster-recovery services available include ASP hosting of (1) Web servers and general Web page information and (2) entire Unicorn or Horizon integrated library systems, plus general emergency consulting services to assist libraries in their system recovery efforts. The objective of these services is to enable libraries with back-up data to run their systems remotely on SirsiDynix servers housed in secure facilities. Sirsi and Dynix Announce Merger June, 21, 2005 Sirsi Corporation and Dynix Corporation today announced that the two companies are merging to create SirsiDynix, a single company positioned more strongly than either company on its own to develop and deliver leading-edge information technology solutions for libraries and consortia around the world. With detailed planning already being undertaken jointly, the two companies will integrate their worldwide operations. Representatives from both companies are working together to make strategic decisions regarding all aspects of the company's future. Integration and strategic planning for the new company are to be completed in fourth quarter 2005. Decisions now made include adoption of a strategy to continue full development and support of the Unicorn and Horizon 8.x/Corinthian integrated library system (ILS) platforms; appointment of Sirsi CEO Patrick C. Sommers as chief executive of the new company; and appointment of Dynix CEO Jack Blount as a consultant responsible for completing development of Horizon 8.x/Corinthian and as a member of the company's board of directors. Customers' day-to-day contacts with SirsiDynix sales, service, and support organizations remain unchanged.

Dynix Contributes $10,000 to CODI Published in: Computers in Libraries March 2005 Dynix announced that it has provided $10,000 to the North American users group supporting libraries using Dynix software. The contribution to Customers of Dynix, Inc. (CODI) was the result of a profit-sharing sales promotion offered to North American customers during the month of November.
